Blog Rush Update - Put Some Flavor on Your Widget

Blog Rush will soon introduce flavors on their widget.

MORE NEWS…

It seems that some people are trying to call BlogRush a “pyramid scheme” or stating “there’s just no way the future impressions will ever be able to be served based on the promises of what referrals will bring. The math is impossible like other schemes of this kind.”

Anyone that is saying this doesn’t understand how BlogRush works…

EVERY SINGLE IMPRESSION GETS REWARDED FOR *THAT* IMPRESSION AS IT HAPPENS. There is no “promise” of future rewards based on referral activity today. Each and every impression of the widget (and impression of the 5 headlines per widget) is rewarded AS IT HAPPENS. And when all the math is said and done, it also leaves 1 out of every 10 headline spaces left-over for BlogRush to use to monetize the service. So apparently some people think it’s all based on false promises that the network will eventually “catch up” and pay rewards in the future. This just isn’t the case. Every single impression that occurs is calculated and rewarded to the generations ‘above’ — that’s how the math has to work.

We’re working hard to move to the 100% Manual Review Process as quickly as possible, and other improvements.

As I’ve now said many times, our SOLE FOCUS is helping our members generate quality, targeted traffic. So we’re hard at work to make that happen.

Want More Traffic? Use The Untapped Resource

Just when we have thought of everything and still want to generate more traffic, there is one place we can go. We have all heard of it, that’s right MySpace. An interesting thing happened when I was looking at my websites traffic statistics the other day. I found out that I have got over 4,000 visitors to my company website, from my personal MySpace website. That accounted for over 25% of my total traffic. From a search engine optimization standpoint this was a very sizable number.

This intrigued me so I signed my business up for a free account on MySpace. Invited all my friends from my personal MySpace account, joined groups on MySpace that are industry specific to my business, and bamm! More traffic. MySpace, to debrief, is a way for people to not only express themselves and their interests, but allows individuals, companies, music groups and others to network and keep in touch.

Remember traditional marketing, specifically businesses like Mary Kay? You would hit up everyone you know and tell them about your business. Your target of local friends and family would sustain the most business for you under this system. Not only does MySpace take care of this, but lets you reach farther with people you may not already know.

Give it a try, invite the MySpace community to your business and watch for increased traffic while doing so. So far I have seen nothing but good things from this and have even landed business. This strategy has definitely helped my Internet Marketing SEO endeavors. Check out my site http://www.LeviSolutions.com and my MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/FortCollinsWebDesign

How To Get A Site Online And Have It Making Money

When building and getting a site online you have to think of a number of things. Some of these include the following:

    1. What is your site going to be about

If you want to get a site online to make money then you need to do some good research before you choose what your site is going to be about. This is because there is no point in you choosing a topic for your site where other people have no interest in. If no one has any interest in the topic of your site then you will find it very had to get a good amount of visitors to your site. So the best thing to do is to choose a topic that is likely to interest a large number of people and is also likely to make you some good revenue online.

    2. What web hosting provider are you going to choose to host your site with

Choosing the right Web hosting provider is very important when choosing it to host your site. This is because there is no point in choosing a Web hosting provider that is likely to be unreliable just because it is cheap or just because you don’t know enough about it. The article at: http://www.simplysearch4it.com/article/a00033/854.html gives you a better idea on how to choose a good Web hosting provider to host your site with.

    3. How can you add more content to your site

Once you have your site up and running, you will then need to think of ways of making your site bigger and also updating your sites content on a regular basis so that your visitors don’t get bored of your site and so that they will have a reason to keep visiting your site on a regular basis. Some ways of adding content to your site could include the following:

You could add some free reprint able articles to your site that is on the same topic as your site. You can find well over 800 reprint able articles at: http://www.simplysearch4it.com/article/articledir.php
You could add some free to play games on your site so it becomes stickier. You can find a load at: http://www.miniclip.com
You could add a forum to your site so people can keep informed of current events and updates on your site and also chat amongst each other. You can find some good forum scripts at: http://www.hotscripts.com where some of these are free with the GPL.
    4. How are you going to earn from your site

Once you have built your site and have found a good web host to host your site with, you will then need to think about how you are going to earn from your site.

If you are selling your own products or offering your own services, you may also want to add a few affiliate programs to your site so that you can produce a little extra income from these programs as well as earning the money from selling your own products or offering your own services. You can find well over 800 affiliate programs at: http://www.affiliateseeking.com. These include pay per click programs, pay per lead programs, two-tiered programs, pay per impression programs, residual income programs and more.

    5. How are you going to promote your site to get visitors

Now that you have your site up and running with maybe a few affiliate programs included within your sites content, you will now need to promote your site so that you can start getting noticed on the Web. The article at: http://www.simplysearch4it.com/article/a00000/197.html gives you some of the best ways of getting visitors to your site.

Once you have done the above five things, you should now have your own site online. The amount of visitors that your site will receive and the amount of money you will make from your site will all depend on the amount of work and effort you put into your site. The more work you do with your site, the more money you are likely to make.

Which Article Directories Should You Submit To?

Publishing articles is a tremendous way to generate links to your site. There are now thousands of article directories, so which should you submit your articles to?

Which Article Directories Should You Submit To?

Just so we are clear, an article directory is a site that accepts articles on a wide variety of subjects. Webmasters, bloggers and so on then go to these directories to find content for their sites. When they republish your article, they are supposed to include your byline. You should have a link to your site in the byline. This process increases the link count for your site for search engine optimization purposes and also can generate traffic directly if people click on your link to visit your site.

In the old days [two years ago], there were relatively few article directories. You could pick out five to ten and pretty much hit a large audience of webmasters. Alas, people started noticing the directories were getting a lot of traffic and making a lot of money off of the advertisements on the sites. Suddenly, new directories started appearing and the choice of sites to publish your articles on grew dramatically.

For better or worse, one site was directly responsible for this exponential growth. The folks at Article Dashboard started giving away their site platform for free. Anyone could start an article directory by following some basic steps. Suddenly, the number of article directory sites went from a relatively small number to thousands upon thousands. There is nothing wrong with this, but it created a problem.

Once you have written articles, you must submit them. This takes time. As the number of directories increased dramatically, submitting became a much bigger pain in the butt. I actually hired someone to do it for me. Eventually, programmers realized this problem was actually an opportunity. Sites started popping up where you could pay for a program that would automatically submit to thousands of sites for you or you could pay a monthly fee and they would do it for you. The quality of these various services and programs is mixed. Some love them, some don’t.

I write articles to promote a ton of sites. Some articles are written for my search engine optimization clients and some are written for my own sites. Submitting is a big problem for me. After trying to hit every article directory for a year or so, I started rethinking the process. Personally, I have decided to stick with a few big directories and leave it at that. Why? Well, I just don’t think most directories get a lot of traffic. People are creatures of habit. If they find what they want at a site, they tend to stick with it. Since most of the bigger directories are put together well, I tend to stick with them. I think most people looking for content do as well.

So, what directories do I use? Ezine Articles, Go Articles, Article City, Article Dashboard, Idea Marketers for certain niche subjects and that is about it. I used to use Isnare, but they are really slow now. I also loved Article Alley, but it seems to have gone in the crapper as well. In sticking with these major directories, I have saved time and still accomplish what I need to do.

Before you get all riled up, I realize there are other major directories. Everyone has sites they like and I am no different. This article is not intended to promote certain directories. It is written to convey the idea that you do not need to publish articles in EVERY article directory on the face of the web.

Reviews of the Latest PC Games

Finding some good information on the latest PC games can be quite a difficult task. I've tried to do a Google search with the key words 'latest PC games' or 'current PC games'. I got thousands of replies but most of them were not what I was looking for. I've been keen on playing PC games for a long time and I've always found it hard to come across any decent sites giving updated information about the latest PC games. Nowadays all the attention goes to gaming consoles and thus, finding news on computer games is getting harder and harder.

Probably the most popular gaming platform are computers. So you can look for the latest PC games on websites devoted to them. It is not really difficult to find lists of new games and their prices but it is a couple of times harder to find any good sites which offer reviews about the newest PC games. If I have to recommend you some sites I'd suggest you had a look on my personal favourite ones - Gamespot, Gamespy, IGN, and Gamezone.

You can always find recent reviews of the lastest PC games on them, as well as some information on the most popular and newest console videogames. Even though I sometimes fully disagree with the reviews published, I still believe they are useful, at least you can get some basic info about the game, for example what it's genre is. In my case, if it's not one of the types I like, I don't purchase it and save some money. If I have genuine interest in a particular game I usually read at least a couple of reviews on different sites about it. That way I get all the information I need before going to the store and buying it.

One of the reasons why you should try to get as many reviews as possible about a PC game before purchasing it is because the price of the latest games varies about $50 per title. I cannot imagine anything worse than spending your hard-earned money on a new PC game which might turn out to be a beta program filled with bugs, a game with a poorly conceived plot. However, it is true that most of the latest PC games are no good, as the standard is getting lower and lower.

Being completely honest, I have to admit that from time to time even nowadays a real treasure comes out of the blue. This gem gets much more appreciation and popularity now because the rest of the new PC games are not worth it. I try to regularly check for news on the latest PC games on varies sites with the only hope to find and buy one of these gems.

    Building Your Online Portfolio

So you want to start earning online and have invested some of your hard earned cash in a couple of online programs but have you really thought about what you are investing in.

You wouldn't simply roll off the street into a real estate agency and purchase a house to rent out without looking at the area first and seeing if there was a good rental market and similarly you wouldn't invest all your money into shares in just one company before looking into it first.

As any financial advisor and in fact anyone with a little common sense will tell you - you should spread the risk. You do not invest all your money into high risk new venture companies or put it all into property. Similarly, if you want to make a good return you don't just leave it sitting in the bank.

Earning a living online or a little extra cash is no different. You must consider all the options carefully first and then only invest what you can afford to lose and SPREAD THE RISK.

You should look to put your money in a number of different online companies and investments. No I don't mean join every opportunity going and spread yourself across so many different opportunities that you don't know whether you are coming or going, but you should have a balanced portfolio of opportunities.

First you consider how much time you have to put into a new online venture. If you don't have much spare time look to invest in passive programs that require no recruitment or downline building. And yes there are some of these that work and are stable and will be around for the long haul but you must be careful. Even if you are planning to promote another network marketing MLM or affiliate program you should have some form of passive program in your portfolio to build up funds.

Again when investing in passive programs spread the risk. For example I have invested money into 4 passive programs, 2 fairly low risk ones, one I would class as low to medium and a higher risk opportunity for quicker returns. Number one rule - NEVER INVEST more than you can afford to lose, number two - SET YOUR GOALS. If you want to earn an additional $500 a month, then invest enough to do this but ensure you withdraw the rest and do not be tempted to invest more for a bigger return. All these programs carry some risk and you should always aim to at least make your capital investment back and then just invest the profits.

As an example in my portfolio I have a weekly subscription to J3V (http://www.j3v.biz/index2.php?rgawith) and YMMSS (email me at support@computerincome.net for details) in order to build up a good residual income in a couple of years time. These are both stable companies that have proven themselves and have a good track record. I therefore consider these low risk (and this is only my opinion) and I am using these to build up a residual income without the need to recruit. I have then invested in FundBiZGrowth (http://www.fundbizgrowth.com/SOSRGawith.html) which doubles your money every 6 weeks - I consider this a slightly higher risk program but one in which their could be good returns. Finally I have invested in DollarMonster (http://easychairclub.com/dm/moreinfo.cgi?u=rgawith) - this purely a double your money quickly program and I consider it a fairly high risk as it requires a constant flow of new people to pay out. I am using this program simply to make some quick cash to plough back into the other programs.

So whilst these passive programs are building you residual income you need your main affiliate or network marketing program which you will concentrate on promoting and which will give you a an immediate source of income. Now I actually own and run my own program at http://www.earnmoneyhere.com but I am also an affiliate of RecipeSwap (http://www.recipe-swap.com/members/rgawith/) which I think is a goof stable and fun program to promote and make a good second income. However, it does not matter what your main affiliate or MLM program is so long as you concentrate on promoting it and building your affiliate team or downline.

Then as with any business you need to ensure you have the right tools and resources for the job. If you worked in an office, you require office equipment, if you have a shop you need display racks etc.. working online is no different...you need the right tools and resources. I use Isoregister ( http://www.isoregister.com/9810354341/rgawith ) as it gives me all the tools I need in one place such as autoresponders, ebooks, articles, advertising etc etc...but so long as you have a good resource suite you are all set to market online and start building your portfolio.

But remember the number one rule, is all online opportunities incur a certain amount of risk, but you can minimise your losses and maximise your profits by spreading the risk sensibly across a number of stable and profitable online ventures.

    A Writer's Inner Battle

There is a psychological nuisance so powerful that can deflate the drive, self-esteem, and human spirit of many aspiring Writers of any age. These Writers are faced with an obstacle that make them stop, think twice and question their right to be a part of a respected community. This even leads them to doubt their ambition of pursuing their literary or journalistic calling.

It is that inner voice echoing: “Huh! Who do you think you are, a J. K. Rowling in the making?” or “Oh my God, stop pretending you have a literary mind!” and more similar lines of thinking. Some may call it a fiend while others may describe it as the self-defeating aspect of a person.

If you have been afflicted as I have been, do not worry, the voice speaks only in behalf of detractors, real or imagined. It is not the embodiment of the authentic gift of creativity you and I were born with.

When you know you have a great idea brewing in your head that you could almost see it completed in your mind, strike the keys; When the voice blows its cacophony horn, resist the urge to stop.

    Mind and Behavior

How your thinking becomes your staunch enemy at times has reasons of its own.

While confidence takes a respite, this occupational hazard of qualm attacks during your journey as a blossoming writer haunts even the best of Writers.

“I have written practically nothing yet, and now again the time is getting short. There is nothing done. I am no nearer my achievement than I was two months ago, and I keep half doubting my will to perform anything. Each time I make a move my demon says at almost the same moment:” Oh, yes, we’ve heard that before!” Katherine Mansfield (1888-1923), British short story Writer.

Just as how old manipulative thinking habits have repeatedly, slowly, and unconsciously crept into your subconscious, so shall you replace them with new ones consciously.

“Whatever action we take is first of all determined by our thoughts, so if we change our thoughts, we can change the way we behave.” Cherith Powell and Greg Forde

Decision is your first step. Redeem your faith in your ability to write by making up your mind of wanting to do so. Ignore unwanted mental murmurs right away. Refuse to dwell on them.

“Anytime you can be aware of and witness your own thoughts, instead of becoming lost or absorbed in them, you’re in a position to grow from your experience rather than being immobilized by it,” Richard Carlson, Ph.D., famous author and Expert on happiness and stress.

Act on this decision by writing always until the habit has been embedded in your system. Stick to it. The discipline will condition your mind to an ‘I can’ attitude and will provide you with proofs of your writing skill, slowly but surely.

Search for the inner voice responsible for getting you on board this vessel of courage to have ever wanted to write or written a few pieces in the first place. Relive it. Delight in it.

However, more than positive self-talk, you will need something tangible to corroborate your long buried positive belief. Produce the written piece. It will bear out the reality of your skill as a writer and will sustain the writer’s spirit running in your vein.

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” Aristotle.

In addition, submitting your work often and getting published even in small publications (print or online) immerse you more in the world of writing and defines further what you really want, what you can achieve and what you will ultimately become. It validates you further as a writer in your eyes and in the eyes of others.

A published work further nullifies that damaging inner voice and even the real detractors (in contrast to professional, constructive and objective Literary Critics) existing beyond your writing comfort zone.

“Do you want to know who you are? Don’t ask Act. Action will delineate and define you. You will find out from your actions.” Witold Gombrowicz (1904-1969), Polish Novelist, Playwright, Essayist.

    Beating the Beast Within

Make it a habit to study the lives of people who started out with wobbling knees in careers totally different from the degree they have earned in college, dreaming dreams that no one thought they could reach. Count the number of times they were told they were misfits but went on to succeed in fields seemingly incompatible to their personality and intellect.

Read Writers’ biographies and unearth their struggles, look around you and be inspired. Shift your focus from the mockery of your thoughts to real quiet people who never bragged but wrote nonetheless with profundity.

As a late blooming writer myself I employ these pointers. In my own pace, I have learned to fight back. The automatic reaction casts out the ugly feeling of inefficiency and helps me to proceed.

It may not guarantee a life free of backslidings to negative self-talks but these mental approaches serve as buffers that strengthen the mental defenses overtime until the bad voices are subdued.

The advice of other writers that says write, write, and write is a gold mine. It sharpens and stimulates your writing mind. Best of all it brings you closer to your vision and away from your psychological beasts.

So unless you do exactly the opposite of what your demon says you cannot do, your inner battle will not be silenced.

    Pursue your dream. Write!
